Hamas Holds Discussion with Palestine Factions While Israel Continues its Cruelty

The conflict in Gaza has sharply escalated, with Israeli airstrikes and artillery bombardments causing widespread devastation. In recent attacks, multiple bombings have resulted in the deaths of at least 15 Palestinians, including women and children. UN facilities and schools housing displaced individuals have been relentlessly targeted, sparking international outrage and condemnation. The UN, along with other global organizations, has called for an immediate halt to the violence, highlighting the mounting civilian toll. Palestinian factions, united in resistance, continue to demand an end to the siege, the rebuilding of Gaza, and a fair resolution to the ongoing crisis.                                                                                                                                                      Recently, the Israeli army committed two massacres in Gaza City, leading to the martyrdom of 15 individuals as bombing intensified in the northern Gaza Strip. The Civil Defense reported five Palestinians were martyred following shelling near Dar Al-Arqam School in Ard Al-Shanti, while an airstrike targeted a house in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, killing 10, including children and women. Further bombings in Shuja'iyya and Beit Hanoun resulted in more deaths and injuries, while airstrikes and shelling continued across Gaza.

International organizations, including the United Nations (UN), have expressed growing alarm over the situation. The World Health Organization (WHO) successfully evacuated 97 critically injured patients, including children, from Gaza to the UAE. Meanwhile, Israeli forces bombed a UN-run school housing displaced Palestinians in the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing at least 18 people, including six staff members of the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA). The strike flattened part of the facility, which had been sheltering approximately 12,000 displaced Palestinians, mostly women and children. This marks the fifth time the school has been targeted, leaving over 18 wounded in the latest attack.

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini expressed outrage over the continuous attacks, calling it “endless and senseless killing.” He stressed that humanitarian staff and operations have been "blatantly and unabatedly disregarded since the beginning of the war." The death of six staff members has increased the total number of UNRWA employees killed in Gaza to 220.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in an interview with Al Jazeera, called for the US to exert pressure on Israel to end its war on Gaza. However, he acknowledged the challenges, stating, "I know the American political life sufficiently to know that will not happen." The call for international intervention comes as the death toll in Gaza surpasses 41,000, with over 95,000 wounded, while in Israel, at least 1,139 people have been killed in Hamas-led attacks since October 7, with more than 200 taken captive.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the WHO, condemned the bombings, stating that "hospitals, schools, and shelters have been repeatedly bombarded," calling for an immediate halt to the "carnage in Gaza." He emphasized that no words can accurately reflect the true scale of horror and loss of life in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Palestinian resistance factions, led by Hamas, have reaffirmed their unity in the face of Israeli aggression. During a tripartite meeting with the Arab Liberation Front and the Palestine Liberation Front, Hamas emphasized that Palestinian factions stand united in their struggle. They reaffirmed that no agreement with Israel would be possible unless the core demands of ending the aggression on Gaza, lifting the siege, and rebuilding the destruction caused by the war are met. The factions also called for a fair prisoner exchange deal and stressed the importance of safeguarding Palestinian national identity.
