The King Salman International Academy opens the registration for Arabic Language proficiency test

Riyadh (UNA) - The King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language has begun the first step inmeasuring the level of the Arabic language for non-native speakers, by allowing registration for the first test of the Arabic language proficiency tests (Hamza).

The complex announced that the test will be held on February 17, 2024 in two formats: “in person” for those inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and “virtually” for those outside the Kingdom, noting that registration for the test can be made via the following link: https://form.ksaa.gov.sa/ic/builder/rt/hamzatest_1_0/live/webApps/regapp/

The “Hamza” test is a standardized computerized test that measures the Arabic language competencies of non-native speakers in using the four language skills (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, writing, and speaking).

The test was built in accordance with the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFR) and measures levels from (A2) to (C1).

The test aims to strengthen the status of the Arabic language and its scientific status locally, regionally and globally, and to establish an approved global standard for the linguistic competencies of learners of Arabic as non-Arabic speakers, in addition to providing valuable inputs to universities and institutes teaching the Arabic language to determine the level of linguistic proficiency among their students who are non-Arabic speakers.

Last December, the Academy launched the project “Testing Linguistic Competencies for Academic Purposes” (Hamza); This is in line with its role in enhancing the status of the Arabic language globally, and to achieve the objectives of the Human Capacity Development Program, one of the programs to achieve Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to enhance the presence of the Arabic language and support its spread and use.

It is noteworthy that the launch of the test by the complex confirms its strategic mission to extend bridges of cooperation between it and the authorities concerned with teaching Arabic to non-native speakers from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to enhance its mission to invest in opportunities to serve the Arabic language, preserve its integrity, support it verbally and in writing, strengthen its position globally, and raise the level of awareness. and facilitating teaching and learning inside and outside the Kingdom.
