Dr Muhammed Madappalli is currently working as PGT in Doha, Qatar. He worked as Assistant Professor at LPU, Punjab for 4 years after completing his PhD from JNU, Delhi with a national-level fellowship (JRF) by the University Grants Commission, India. He gained his first MA in classical and contemporary Islamic studies from DHIU, Kerala and second MA in Sociology from Aligarh Muslim University. His research specialisation at PhD level was Social anthropology of Sufism using ethnographic modality. He is interested in contemporary South Indian Islamic societies, textual and contextual readings of Muslim communities, and traditional rural social life. He authored several articles and some chapters in the journals and books of national and international repute.
