Islamonweb

Rasheed Elamkulam is the Head of the Study of Religion department at Darul Huda Islamic University (DHIU), Kerala. His main area of interest includes Islamic Thought and Civilization, Gender, Sexuality, Theology and Ethics. He is a master graduate of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) from the department of Usuluddin and Comparative Religion in 2018. Before that, he completed his Bachelor degree in Sociology from the University of Calicut, Kerala in 2011 and a Master degree in Islamic and Contemporary Studies from DHIU and was awarded the title of HUDAWI. Among his current projects is A Historical Reader of Shahab Ahmad with Other Books and a translation of Rupert Sheldrake's 'Science Delusion' to Malayalam. He has publications in certain peer-reviewed journals like al-Shajarah, published from Malaysia and Islamic Insight, published by DHIU and regularly writes columns in Thelicham Monthly, published by DHIU and in Islamonweb run by Mission Soft foundation, where he is a section editor. One of his recent works is 'Religion, Science, Reason and Gender Politics' (മതം, ശാസ്ത്രം, യുക്തി, ലിംഗ രാഷ്ട്രീയം), published by Book Plus, Chemmad. He also leads an online course on Islamic Worldview titled 'al-Risalah', under Words Academy of HADIA Centre for Social Excellence, Panakkad .
