Sayyed Mohamed Muhsin is an assistant professor of Islamic jurisprudence at International Islamic University (IIUM), Kuala Lumpur. His research interests include contemporary issues in Islamic jurisprudence, objectives of Sharīʿah and Islamic biomedical ethics. He received his PhD and Masters from IIUM. Before that, he completed MA and BA in Islamic studies from Darul Huda Islamic University, India. He has authored two books; Fatwa: Methodology of Shafite Scholars in South India and Knowledge and Civilization: an Islamic Perspective. He has published research articles in peer-reviewed journals and translated the book “Medical Contract: Sharīʿah Rulings on Medical Consent” from Arabic to English.
