All praise is due to Allah, and may His blessings and peace be upon His Messenger ﷺ, his family, and his Companions. To proceed:
Ṣalāt al-Ḍuḥā, or the forenoon prayer, is a recommended voluntary prayer performed after the sun has risen sufficiently above the horizon until shortly before it reaches its zenith, before Ẓuhr. Its minimum is two rakʿahs, and its preferred time is later in the morning, when the sun’s heat increases.
It is an expression of gratitude to Allah. The Prophet ﷺ taught that two rakʿahs of Ḍuḥā suffice for the charity due each morning from every joint of the body. (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, no. 720.)
For a detailed explanation of its virtues, timing, number of rakʿahs and the views of the jurists, please read The Forenoon Prayer (Ṣalāt al-Ḍuḥā): A Comprehensive Juristic Overview.
Allah knows best.
