Assistant Professor of Arabic, University of Calicut. Received PhD and M.Phil from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, with a national level scholarship (JRF) by the University Grants Commission, India. Completed MA in Arabic from University of Calicut and MA in English from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi. Completed another MA and BA in Islamic Studies from Darul Huda Islamic University. Research interests include Sufi literature in Arabic and other languages, social religious and cultural spheres of south Indian Muslim communities and comparative studies in languages. Authored a research book in English entitled: Spiritual leadership in anti-colonial struggle; a study of life and works of Qazi Muhammad of Calicut, published by writers' choice Delhi. published several articles in peer-reviewed journals in Arabic and English and presented research papers in various national and international seminars. Wrote chapters in books of big repute. Editorial Board member of reputed Arabic research journal, Kalikut, published from department of Arabic, University of Calicut
